The following is a reaction to my previous posts of today:
When the time comes when AI becomes self aware, and equal/better than Human intelligence, either we can destroy our machines, or we can join with them.
either way, i doubt we can coexist peacefully. Eventually, one side [human intelligence or artificial intelligence] is going to get scared and try and eradicate the other. Eventually, something’s going to go wrong.
So if we can’t live together without scaring each other into war, then either we destroy AI before they get too advanced, or we join together with them as one species.
*i think there’s going to be a massive technological, economic, social, and spiritual global revolution soon [within the next 200 years]… i’m crazy right?*
Fusing with our Artificial intelligence may not actually be so horrible. We are made of elements, and AI are made of different elements [and even some of the same elements]. We are vessels that learn and build and explore and replicate, just like machines might/will be. We are machines. just not metal ones.
[and when i say “become one with them,” i mean mentally, not exactly physically]
So maybe if we can’t coexist side-by-side, we can coexist as one species. we aren’t that different.
Maybe this arrival of AIis the next step of human evolution. Maybe we shouldn’t fight it.
The future’s a scary place, but you can’t avoid it. take it in with open arms, and try to prosper.
“Not content with the development of superhuman machines, Dr. Kurzweil envisions “uploading,” or the idea that the contents of our brain and thought processes can somehow be translated into a computing environment, making a form of immortality possible — within his lifetime.”—I’d totally consider that, after my body starts to really be go serious decline, towards the end of my life ;)
